I have been doing posts on sewing and brewing (those are still in the “draft” stage), but neglecting my knitting. That’s probably because I don’t have a good project on my needles right now. But that’s still not a good excuse. Over the last few months I have knitted a few baby sweaters for my Granddaughter, as well as a dress and a blanket. I’ve also done a couple of chemo hats, and a couple of hats for myself (those slouchy designs are just too fun to make)! And now I’ve taught my coworker how to knit and she seems to be making a new hat every few days!! Talk about picking up a craft really fast!
I may not have a good project on my needles right now, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want one or am not looking. I have a gift certificate to the local yarn store (lovely place, thank you Bev) that I’ve been holding for the right pattern. But to find that pattern, I need to look through knitting magazines. I usually borrow from a friend of mine, but she’s moved away now. Not that the magazines are that expensive to buy myself, I just haven’t gotten off my behind to do it! So, I think it’s time I bought a few and sat down and enjoyed going through them. Or, what I would really like, is to buy them on my Kindle and enjoy going through them that way. I have a Kindle Fire and I think it would be great to have a pattern that is easier to find and pull up! So, I am going to look into that.
I also found that my satellite television service carries a knitting show as well. How cool is that?! Well, not too cool for my husband (if his loud sighs when I turn it on are any indication), but I think it’s really cool. And I’ve already learned how to do a tubular cast-on and a diagonal cable scarf. I can’t wait for the next episode and maybe by then I’ll be done with the baby blanket I am crocheting so I can cast-on at least a scarf or hat project while I’m searching for that perfect sweater pattern! Oh, did I forget to mention that I crochet as well. . .
