I started work on my Faraway, So Close shawl using a wonderful color scheme of the Noro yarn Silk Garden.
Before starting I read some reviews and slight alterations. So far I did change the increase type in the middle so it’s a little less lacy. And I don’t have enough yarn to do the large size, but I think the small size is a bit small. So, I’m going to pick a few of the repeats to add until I’m happy with the length. Then when I do the border, I’ll see if I want to make it as ruffly as the pattern calls for.
Here’s a picture so far.
Aren’t the colors wonderful!
I’ve also found a new cardigan I want to make. I know I want to learn swing knitting, but I was sitting in my office the other day wearing a basic sweater because it was just a little cold, but not enough to turn on the heater. As I’m checking my email I see one from Interweave Knitting, and it has a lovely lace cardigan. I had an ah-ha moment where I went, “why am I not wearing a cardigan I’ve knit?!” So, I bought the pattern! I have time to look for the yarn though!
