Finished Sweater!

September 23, 2013

I’m quite happy that I actually finished a sweater that turned out nice! This is the sweater that my Mother asked me to make for her birthday. She picked the pattern out in late August, and then ordered the yarn. My part of the gift was the knitting. Considering the fact that her birthday is September 19th, that did not leave me much time to finish the sweater. Not to mention the long arm I posted about knitting, and then re-knitting. I know, I could have brought it to her party mostly finished, but since my only part of the gift was my effort, I wanted to have it done on time. And then because of other family obligations, the birthday party was moved up to the 15th! Luckily, my husband and I had just set up our television with Netflix, and we found a lot of shows that we really want to catch up with (Starting with Breaking Bad. And we did finish season one!). So I knitted quite a bit throughout the couple of weeks, and a lot on Saturday the 14th and early on Sunday the 15th. So much so that I ended up with a sore shoulder (but it’s better now). Anyhow, I had not quite finished it by the time of the party, so I brought it and my knitting bag to the party and finished if before she opened her gifts! I didn’t have a chance to take a picture of it before I gave it to her, but here is a picture of her wearing it.

And on a note of gifts. . . we went to the Magic Castle with my youngest daughter and her boyfriend. I loaned her my hard to find Maybelline Vivid LE in Infra-Red. It’s such a beautiful color and it took me four stores to find it! But the color looked wonderful on her. Seeing that it wasn’t that expensive, my first thought would be to give it to her. But then it was hard to find and I really like the color. What’s a Mom to do?!

Here is what I did. I went to the MAC store at our local mall and tried on the Ruby Woo lipstick! I liked it so much that I bought it, and then gave the other one to my daughter.

My new MAC lipstick!

I would say that a person doesn’t need more than one good red. But who am I kidding?!! I would buy a lot of different reds if they all look good! But, I felt very good to have that new MAC lipstick, and almost as good giving my LE lipstick to my daughter. But she did get use out of it two weeks later at a family wedding. So all is good 🙂
